Muli Eid Ufaa Masrace 1446 has ended successfully!

The much-anticipated Muli Eid Ufaa Masrace 1446 has concluded successfully, marking another exciting highlight of this year’s Eid celebrations in Meemu Atoll Muli. The fishing competition brought together skilled local fishers, youth teams, and community members in a spirited contest that combined tradition, teamwork, and festive joy.

The ‘Husbulhi’ Team emerged as the overall champion, winning 1st place and taking home the title for catching the heaviest fish of the competition. The ‘Ramzu’ Team secured 2nd place and also earned recognition for catching the most number of fish, while ‘Dholhu Dollar Dhe Dollar’ Team claimed 3rd place with a strong performance.

Adding to the excitement, teams such as ‘Hulhudheli Residence’, ‘Hiyvaru’, and ‘Heskiyaafa Baanaali’ also took part, contributing to the lively and friendly atmosphere of the event.

In total, participants caught 91.5 kilograms of fish throughout the competition. The catch was later sold, generating MVR 1,830 in proceeds, which reflected the hard work and dedication of all involved.

Events like the Muli Eid Ufaa Masrace are part of a broader effort by the Mulakatholhu Muli Council to celebrate Eid and engage its residents to encourage youth participation and strengthen bonds among islanders. Through these events, the Council continues to highlight the importance of unity, culture, and shared joy within the Island community.
